FCB has over twenty volunteer coaches. Very few of us intended to become coaches, we just found ourselves hanging around on the touchline and ended up helping out. What we've found is that it's a great way to spend some quality time with our kids.

At first, the idea of coaching kids' football can appear daunting. We don't know if we are fit enough, whether we have the skills or the knowledge or the experience. We don't know if we can commit to being there every week.

In fact, none of this matters. You don't need to be a super-fit ex-footballer (though we welcome those too), you just need to be willing to have a go. You don't have to be there every week, whatever you can do will help and will be much appreciated by the kids.

You won't be thrown in the deep end. You won't be asked to run a team on your own or even a coaching session. We will help and support you every step of the way. The club will pay for you to do the Level 1 coaching badge and there are also monthly sessions for all our coaches run by FC Bluestar's Head Coach, Bill Prendergast.

You'll pick up tips and tricks, useful techniques and loads of simple drills. We've got mums as well as dads and you can be a good coach without being a great player yourself.
