As part of our commitment as a truly community based club, and to attract more players to FC Bluestar, we have formed official School-Club Links with five primary schools in the Parrs Wood 'cluster':

Broad Oak Primary School
Beaver Road Primary School
Cavendish Road Primary School
Didsbury C of E Primary School
Mauldeth Road Primary School

Each half term, we will be coaching all the pupils in one year group for a hour a week in their PE lessons. That's 300 hours of coaching. By July 2009, we will have coached over 1,800 girls and boys from Year 1 to Year 6.

At the end of each half term, the children from the year group we've coached will come together to play an inter-school 4v4 mini soccer Football Festival.

The schools coaching programme is led by FC Bluestar's Lead Coach, Patrick Davies with support from our Director of Coaching, Bill Prendergast. We hope to roll out the coaching programme to other local schools.
