FC Bluestar has strong views about how football should be played. Children shouldn't be taught to play like a pub team, they should be taught the beautiful game.
We teach all our players to get the ball down and play attractive, passing football. We want kids to experience playing in different positions and to try out in matches the skills they've been learning in training.
So, the result of any particular game is less important to us than the development of children's skills and confidence. We're giving every child the opportunity to reach his or her full sporting potential, not drilling the chosen few to win trophies for the adults.
So FCB matches are interesting to watch - a genuine mixed ability team coached to play technical, passing football often pitched against selective teams often coached to play a very physical, direct version of the game.
We don't always win! But we would prefer our kids to learn to play great football than learn to play ugly football.

Every player should be comfortable on the ball
